General termsand conditions

These terms apply to all trial lessons, regular drum lessons and agreements with dedrum.studio.

By booking a trial lesson or signing up for regular lessons, you agree to these terms.

You can sign up through the dedrum.studio website.

A trial lesson gives you a chance to get to know the studio, see how I teach and have a go behind the drums. There's no obligation to continue afterwards.

After your trial lesson, I'll offer you a regular lesson slot if a suitable one is available. A trial lesson does not guarantee a regular place.

Each person can book one free trial lesson.

Places for new students depend on the lesson slots available.

I'll do my best to find a day and time that work for you, but I can't guarantee a particular slot.

If there's no suitable space just yet, you're welcome to join the waiting list. I'll contact you personally when a suitable slot opens up.

When I offer you a slot, please reply within the timeframe given. After that, I may offer it to someone else.

Doesn't work for you? No problem. You can stay on the waiting list if you'd like.

Your drum lessons take place on a fixed day and at a fixed time.

I review the timetable at the end of each school year. Existing students have priority over new students.

I aim to keep everyone's lesson time the same wherever possible. Sometimes changes are needed to make the timetable work. If that affects you, I'll always discuss it with you personally.

The teaching year generally follows the school holiday calendar for the North region.

Regular lessons do not normally take place during school holidays or public holidays, unless we've agreed otherwise in advance.

I'll let you know about any changes in good time.

Invoices are sent digitally. You can pay via iDEAL (preferred) or another available payment method.

Payment is due within the payment term stated on the invoice.

If you miss a payment, I'll send you a reminder first.

If an invoice remains unpaid, dedrum.studio reserves the right to pause your lessons until the outstanding amount has been paid.

I send important information about lessons, timetable changes and other updates by email.

Please keep your email address and other contact details up to date. dedrum.studio is not responsible for information you miss because your contact details are incorrect or out of date.

Can't make a lesson? Please let me know as soon as possible.

Missed lessons cannot usually be made up. If there's room in my schedule, I'm happy to see whether we can arrange a catch-up lesson. This is an extra service, subject to availability, and isn't guaranteed.

If you miss a catch-up lesson, it cannot be rescheduled.

If you arrive late, your lesson will still finish at the usual time so the next student can start on time.

If I need to cancel a lesson, I'll always arrange a suitable solution, such as a replacement or catch-up lesson.

You can stop taking lessons at any time by giving one month's notice.

Please send your notice by email. The notice period starts on the date I receive it.

Any outstanding invoices must still be paid.

You'll always find the current lesson prices on the prices page.

I'll let you know about any price changes in advance. Changes will never apply retrospectively.

Everyone is welcome at dedrum.studio.

I ask all students to treat each other, the instruments and the studio with care and respect.

Anyone who causes damage through intentional or careless behaviour may be held responsible for the cost.

Parents or guardians remain responsible for their children before and after lessons, unless we've agreed otherwise in advance.

Parents and carers are welcome to take photos or videos of their own child during lessons.

dedrum.studio does not take any photos or videos during lessons.

The N201 building, where dedrum.studio is located, has security cameras in and around its shared areas. These cameras help protect visitors, tenants and property. They are used solely for security purposes, in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.

If dedrum.studio wishes to take photos or videos for promotional purposes in the future, I'll always ask the relevant parents, guardians or students for written permission first.

Personal data is used only to organise lessons, manage administration and communicate with you about dedrum.studio.

I handle your data with care and process it in accordance with applicable privacy legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Participation in lessons is at your own risk.

dedrum.studio is not liable for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

In exceptional circumstances, such as illness, government measures, power cuts or other events beyond dedrum.studio's control, lessons may need to be rescheduled or cancelled.

If that happens, I'll always work towards a suitable solution.

These terms are here to keep our agreements clear and avoid misunderstandings.

If something comes up that isn't covered here, we'll work together to find a fair and suitable solution.

These terms are governed by Dutch law.
